Statement as of 03:18 PM MDT af August 28, 2008 ... A change in the weather expected over Labor Day weekend... The well above normal high temperatures experienced today and expected again tomorrow across the forecast area will decrease nearly 15 degrees at most locations by Labor Day as an unseasonably strong weather system moves across the Great Basin during the Holiday weekend. Breezy southwest winds can also be expected... especially Sunday afternoon across Lincoln... Nye... Inyo... and Esmeralda counties. In addition... there will be a chance of thunderstorms Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening... as an increase to monsoonal moisture is expected ahead of the weather system. The best chances for thunderstorm activity will be over Lincoln... Clark... Mohave... and eastern San Bernardino counties... with isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph possible across eastern Lincoln and Mohave counties.
