Ike Ike is now a Category 2 hurricane with winds of 100 mph located at 24.5 N and 86.1 W and is moving to the NW at 8. Ike will continue to grow in size and intensity tonight as it moves off towards the NW.Tomorrow Ike will begin to move the WNW in response to a ridge building in the Eastern United States. For Friday Ike will be a dangerous Category 4 with winds of 135 mph as it nears the Texas Coast.Right now my best estimate for a landfall in between Houston and Corpus Christi. Here in Mobile expect scattered showers as the winds from Ike and the High pressure system converge causing a line of showers to continue along the coast moving from east to west. For thursday expect a breeze of 20-25 as Ike passes to our south and could even bring in a rainband or two if it passes closer than expected.
