Trying to get back to normal after two bouts of out of town travel. After a two-week-plus hiatus, went up the mountain yesterday and I was WEAK! It's amazing how quickly one gets out of shape. This is not good since I've promised Friend Brian that I'll do Guadalupe Peak with him before he moves to Oregon and this is the time of year to do it but its a 9-mile round trip with 3,000 feet elevation gain. It's pretty significant. When I was in good shape, it was no big deal but I doubt I could do it now. I also want to go backpacking with my dad, but again, I'm weak. I haven't been in normal shape since the baby was born and she's THREE!

Weather is absolutely gorgeous, with highs in the mid 60s and crystal clear skies. What little fall color we get here is in full display right now. The sprinklers are winterized, the grass has received its final pre-winter mow (thanks, 99.99) and the furnace is ready to go. We should be ready for the colder temperatures that are soon to come.

Still haven't heard on whether I passed the test, but its been ONE week and they said TWO weeks. Perhaps sometime this week? I'm anxious to hear!
