Statement as of 5:00 PM PDT on July 3, 2008
For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude..
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Boris...centered about 1360 miles west-southwest of the
southern tip of Baja California...and on Tropical Depression
Douglas...located about 160 miles south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas
Mexico.
Showers and thunderstorms associated with a broad area of low
pressure located a few hundred miles south of the Gulf of
Tehuantepec remain disorganized. However...this system still has
some potential to become a tropical depression during the next day
or two as it moves slowly toward the west-northwest or northwest.
Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the
next 48 hours.
